Breathing New Life into Margate’s History: My Vision for the Dreamland Cinema

Margate has always been more than just a place to live—it is a community defined by its creativity and resilience. As a broadcaster and artist, I have spent this year growing Legend Squirrell Radio, driven by a commitment to "Radical Honesty" and authentic, raw storytelling. Today, I am taking that commitment a step further.

​I have officially submitted a formal proposal to Thanet District Council regarding the future of the iconic Dreamland Cinema building.

​Why this matters

This Grade II*-listed building is a landmark of our town’s heritage. My vision is to transform this space into a sustainable, community-led media hub. I believe that by integrating a professional broadcasting facility into the heart of Dreamland, we can create a "live" marketing engine for the site—bringing in year-round footfall, hosting high-quality interviews, and showcasing local arts.

I am looking to build a model that supports itself through a mix of strategic partnerships, cultural engagement, and community-focused programming. By leveraging the growth of Legend Squirrell Radio—including the launch of our new app and our ongoing music projects—I am confident that we can bring this space back to life in a way that is both commercially viable and culturally significant.
